In Loving Memory: Michael Freedman, A Guiding Light of the Anthony V. Martin Foundation

We are sad to report that Michael Freedman, our friend and fellow Trustee of the Anthony V. Martin Foundation, died recently.

Tony Martin had known Michael for over forty years and during this time, in 2001, with an endowment from Tony, they set up the Anthony V. Martin Foundation, a beacon of hope that has since supported countless charitable causes around the world. With his calm, reliable and deliberate approach, Michael brought invaluable professional experience to his work with the Foundation and contributed to it having the widest possible impact over the last twenty-two years.

Michael qualified as a chartered accountant with Landau Morley LLP in 1965 and was appointed a manager before leaving to work in industry for 10 years. During that time, he held positions as financial controller, commercial director and managing director in small businesses and large multi-nationals in a range of sectors. He spent two years at London Business School to qualify for an MBA and finally returned to Landau Morley to be appointed Managing Partner in 1995, a position he held for 24 years.

We cannot begin to express how much Michael will be missed by all of us at the Foundation.

Our deepest thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to his family in this time of sorrow. The memory of his life, his passion, and his service will forever be an inspiration to us all and we are committed to carrying forward his legacy at the Anthony V. Martin Foundation.

His indelible mark on our mission and his enduring dedication to service will continue to guide our efforts. As we mourn his loss, we also honor his exceptional life and the significant contributions he made. Our tribute to Michael will be to persist in our work, inspired by his unwavering commitment to making a difference. His memory will forever be a guiding light in our journey.
