Queen Elizabeth II and Her Love for Animals

As we take in the sad news, we thought that we would remember Queen Elizabeth II and her outstanding service to animal welfare and celebrate her love for animals.

Our founder Tony puts it best "I think that her love of both people and animals showed the quality of her affection for the world at large”.

A wonderful life lived in service - and it is now our job as a collective to continue her amazing work and love for our animal counterparts.

A Love Since Childhood

Her Majesty was a lifelong animal lover, and owned both horses and dogs. She was known for her love of corgis, which she kept since her childhood.

This love continued through her early years and into her reign where The Queen took an active interest in the welfare of all animals, including those used for farming and racing. She worked to improve conditions for animals kept in zoos and circuses and banned hunting on royal property.

The Queen was a patron of several animal charities throughout her life and has helped to raise awareness of issues such as the illegal wildlife trade.

The Queen’s Corgis - A Special Bond

The Queen's love for animals was well-known, and her corgis were no exception. The Queen owned more than 30 corgis during her reign, and all of them are descended from a dog named Susan, who was a gift to the then-Princess Elizabeth on her 18th birthday. The Queen took excellent care of her corgis, and they were always well-groomed and healthy. The bond between the Queen and her corgis was very special - they are truly like family to her.

The Legacy of the Queen and Her Love for Animals

Her Majesty's legacy with regard to animals is one of compassion and care. She has often been photographed with her beloved pets and has spoken out against animal cruelty on many occasions. The Queen's commitment to animal welfare has inspired many others to get involved in similar causes, and she has helped to raise awareness of the plight of endangered species around the world. The Queen's passion for animals was evident in her support for zoos and wildlife conservation efforts, as well as her work with domestic pets such as dogs and horses.

It goes without saying that the Queen's love for animals is just one aspect of her incredible life and achievements; a renowned philanthropist, environmentalist, and champion of social justice issues around the world.

Faith in King Charles III & The Future

As we welcome in a new King we do so in good confidence that King Charles will follow in Her Majesty’s footsteps.

King Charles has long been an advocate for animal welfare and has worked tirelessly to promote awareness of the issue through his many charitable endeavors.

In recent years, he has been particularly outspoken about trophy hunting and the need to protect endangered species and has even established his own foundation dedicated to this cause.

The new King’s work has helped to bring about real change in the way the public views animals, and his legacy will undoubtedly continue to have a positive impact on the lives of creatures both big and small.

We are sure that he will continue to show his love for animals and work hard to protect them in his new role, and we wish him all the best.
